We are the foundation cattery and Pixie bob breeding program for the whole of Ireland and have rare bloodlines that are not yet to be found anywhere else in Europe including the UK.
Pinewood Pixie bob cattery is dedicated to preserving the original look and temperament of this unique breed of cat. We purchased and imported our foundation breeding stock from catteries that work exclusively with the original Pacific Northwest Pixiebob bloodlines, and an occasional Legend Cat. Selective breeding has produced a large boned wild looking but loving cat with the personality and devotion of a faithful dog. They bond very strongly to their family and get along well with other animals and children.
Pinewood Cattery is a small family cattery having only the unique Pixie bob cats, as no other breed of cat will do after you have owned a pixie bob. Having relocated from the UK to a lovely spot in Ireland and are the only breeders of Pixie bobs in the country at present.
We imported our cats from Alaska and the USA, acquiring only the original Pacific North West Pixie bob bloodlines and the very coveted Dixie pixie lines of Sue Jordan, thanks to Lauren of NW Heritage Cattery Alaska and then Jessica of Rocky Tops Cattery USA. Both of these breeders' cats are direct descendants of the best of Carol Brewers lines, the founder of the breed and that of the outstanding Rockyfalls Cattery bloodlines, which incorporate some incredible Legend cats.
Pixie bobs have been bred to resemble the wild Bobcat and are dog like in their personality, having strong bonds with their family; they will fetch toys and walk on a lead, travel in the car and love to greet you or anybody at the door. I adore my special cats and have a limited number of show, breeder and pet quality kittens available each year to approved homes only.
We are a family of animal lovers and it was my brother who first introduced me to this wonderful breed of cat. Chris and his wife have their own pixie bob cattery in the UK and are now working with one of my outstanding bloodlines in their stud cat Marley who is one of my homebred males and given to Chris & Emma as a wedding present. We work closely together to insure we both import new bloodlines that do not already exist in England or anywhere else in Europe and only the best quality pixie bobs and bloodlines for our breeding programs.
